Jerzy Woking Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 My W124 has suffered with a blocked sunroof drain hole, so the inside was a bit damp. I purchased a hanging dehumidifier bag from Poundland (99p-bargain). A week later it looked like thi Weather good enough to have all the doors open this morning, and can't feel anymore dampness. Will get a couple more though, as this on did a great job hanging from the rear view mirror. strangeangel, Bamboocarman, Tickman and 4 others 7
richardmorris Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Must be sunroof drains dripping from up there. Mine lets water in from the rubber sealing ( or not!) strip at the bottom of the windscreen. I've added an extra layer of black tape which fixes it. Having frameless doors means they're not particularly water tight either and I have a couple of sacks of desiccant on the parcel shelf to help. I have the ac on all the time to help too- oh the joys of an old heap in winter! Oh, and a tip to the wise. Never, ever, ever, and I mean ever, buy a Citroen cx with a sunroof. Well, er, I won't be buying another anyway. myglaren and Joloke 2
lisbon_road Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 OK so what is that hanging dehumidifier bag and how does it work? Looks a very interesting idea, humidity is death to old cars so interested please!

Looks a very interesting idea, humidity is death to old cars so interested please! The top half is filled with some balls, similar in size to silica gel, which melt away and disappear as the bag fills with liquid. Not sure what chemistry does that but it works. The one I had are similar to these:
danthecapriman Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 I use these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kontrol-Streamline-Moisture-Trap-500g/dp/B0017RPIKM/ref=sr_1_62?ie=UTF8&qid=1457824789&sr=8-62&keywords=DehumidifierReusable too, just pour the water out of the tray and refill with absorbent crystals. I use two of these in each of my cars every winter and it seems to keep damp and mould at bay.
