Mercedes 230CLK Kompressor, great car, not my bag, good sob story

I put this on the blue forum earlier as I can only log on here at home, your turn now, this is a great car if you like them, I'm not a fan and I'm stuck with it, I will listen to any swaps or offers etc. If the photo's don't come up the are fabulous and plain as day on RR!

Make: Mercedes Benz

Model: 230 CLK

Miles: 129k

Located in South London, SE5

£750, offers or swaps

So here is the sob story, as part of my divorce agreement I promised my ex, who I still get on with, that I would buy her a CLK when she passed her test. She passed her test, she chose this one, I paid over the odds for it and then spent the same amount or more on it getting the various niggles sorted out, basically if I sell it at £750 I'm still massively out of pocket which I wouldn't mind if I liked the car, I'm more an Allegro bloke so I have no real feelings for it!

I want it out of my hair, I don't use it so I'm happy to swap for anything a bit more quirky, mundane, motorcycle or British related, try me, I'm keen!

So it was serviced, had new brakes and obvious faults and niggles sorted out and then insurance proved to be prohibitive and it has not been used. It is a UK car from new, registered in Northern Ireland as YAZ2953 in Tanzanite Blue and re-registered when it came to Manchester as S541KBA It has the following history:

For a 17 year old car the bodywork is in very good condition. There are no dents that I can see, there are one or two light scratches and the paintwork seems slightly flat in places but all in all it is very presentable, there are tiny rust spots on the edge of the wheel arches, one on the door and a crack on the off side mirror case. The alloys are presentable although tarnished in places.

The Interior is a very pleasant place to be, the grey leather seats are manual and very comfortable, there is slight wear to the driver’s seat bolster although no tears, the driver’s inside door handle is worn, the rear ash tray is discoloured and the steering wheel has wear. It is fitted with clean fabric floor mats. All the switches and dials work as they should. It is fitted with a brand new Pioneer CD player with aux input. The cruise control works as does the central locking, mirrors and windows although the driver’s side window does get stuck occasionally. Air conditioning is fitted but not tested, assume it needs re-gassing and you may be lucky.

The car starts instantly and runs nicely, it sits well on good quality tyres, Avons at the rear and Michelin and Dunlop at the front, there is slight wear to the outside edge of the nearside front Dunlop but with plenty of life. The brakes are very good and look recent, with lack of use though they can squeak! Driving the car, the engine is responsive and lively with no untoward noises, the gearbox changes as it should, there is a very slight pull to the left and on a run there is a very slight bearing rumble but no discernible wear when checked, the driver’s window doesn’t seal correctly so there is a little wind noise, this will need to be looked at. All in all it feels planted on the road and a solid piece of engineering.

It comes with a V5 in my ex-wife’s name, the original Mercedes book pack with service history, one key and an MOT until August 2016. All ready to drive away![img src=http://i.imgur.com/46j2dQB.jpg" style="max-width:100%]

That looks really tidy, the interior also looks very inviting. It's a proper bargain I should have thought.
