Bought this as a run around, but the Passat is actually not as bad as I'd thought it was, and I REALLY like GroovyLee's Octavia, so I want that next.

 

But, I've got a lot of cars littered about the place, so I need to thin the fleet a bit.

 

Faults..

 

Head gasket is leaking oil, it's apparently normal but it has started to spot where I've not cleaned it off, it runs down and leaves a few drips, still runs spot on, doesn't loose enough to worry but keep any eye on the level.  Head gasket is £40 or so?, it's an easy job.

 

Horn doesn't work

 

Sunroof leaks when it properly bombs it down.

 

Drivers rear door has some rust peeking through.

 

When it's really cold, 2nd gear can be a bit of a pain, but double de-clutching usually helps, it might need oil, it might be wearing the synchro, I dunno, it's quite and when warm it's not difficult though.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It's about to clock over 79k now, using it daily, so will go up, but it's spot on

Never fails to start on the button, freezing cold or otherwise, heater works, it's comfortable as you'd expect from what's basically an old lancer.

Tax is about £25.00 a month , but it's doing about 350 miles to a tank of go go juice doing mixed driving, I drove it from Stamford to Letchworth last night and back, with zero drama, and I use it to get from Stamford to Corby every day across the B roads and up the 12% hill near Rockingham castle, and it pulls up there in third fine.. zero drama, it's not a bad little thing.

 

 

I actually quite like this one, it's not as comfortable as I'm used to, but as far as proper low ball daily drivers go, this isn't half bad.
