Your Top Ten (ish) Briefs of 2015

Taking from a thread on Faceache by Captain Slow, here's mine:

My top ten briefs ("brief" being a Scottish vernacular for vehicle) of driving this year - the first 5 by mileage, the next 5 chronologically, and a few stragglers in the footnotes.

1. Peugeot 106 1.1 Escapade - the current daily

2. Lancia Y10 1.3 GTi - Philbusmo's fantastic little Italian loan car

3. Kia Picanto 1.0 - the wife's

4. Fiat Ducato/Lunar Newstar - the motorhome

5. Citroen BX 19RD - "Buffy" (or Muffy) that I didn't get on with

6. Peugeot 205 TD, with more boost than sense (i.e. about 130 BHP...)

7. Nissan Cherry - catsinthewelder's softly tyred/sprung car

8. Ford Cortina mk3 (times 2 - an estate first, then a bloody gorgeous saloon)

9. Perudoa Nippa - Dollywobbler's, and fun too.

10. BMW E30 335 Touring - 320Touring's mad beast

Honourable mentions to my own Pug 205 and Vauxhall Cavalier 1300L, but this was only due to me moving them about in MG Mal's barn prior to scrapping them. The most I spent driving in there was a Coventry Climax reach FLT, which was also fun - and I left rubber ont' deck with that one too...! ;-)

1. Austin Maestro 1.3 - still soldiering on despite smoky top end and leaky heater matrix

2. Austin A40 Somerset - Genuinely very reliable in 2015, and brilliant fun to drive

3. Vauxhall FE 2300S - Most problems sorted now, for sale in the New Year.

4. Austin A35 - Hardly used this year, must try harder.

5. Reliant Scimitar GTE 3.0 manual - Brilliant car, loads of power. Want one.

6. Rover P6 2000TC - Really good solid feeling car and I can see why they sold so much better than the FE range

7. Vauxhall Victor FE VX4/90 - Cheating a bit with this one, but the power increase over my single carb 2300 was useful.

8. Rover Sterling Coupe - For £300 you couldn't complain, lovely interior.

9. Austin miniMetro - Love it, want one.

10. Morris 1100. Just because it's such a brilliant package and such fun to drive for an affordable price.
