banging tunes*

Not really my thing, banging tunes, I'm much happier listening to the wireless while stuck in yet another fucking traffic jam making my way through the rich tapestry of fellow commuters.

Now, the X1/9 has had a head unit fitted which works a treat BUT!!  The existing Fiat ariel jack is to large for the ariel hole in the back of the Panasonic head unit I have fitted.

So, my question for the denizens of AS is this; in order to enjoy* The Archers while driving one of Turin's finest, I need some form of adaptor between ariel & head unit. But does it need to be like this:-

and if so, how do I identify the different sizes? Short of turning up at Halfords with the head unit in my hand, opening a couple up and trying them, is there anyway to identify them?

A quick google search refers to stuff like, DIN to ISO, ISO to DIN, male to female etc. I think all I need to do is step down a mm or so in diameter, but my school was crap and I can't speak adaptor, sorry.

Cheers, Taff

With your history I thought this was going to mean something different entirely.

There's only two sizes of aerial connector.

The little one

ISO%20(M).jpg

And the big one

(if you exclude any weird and wonderful ones used by manufacturers on their OEM stuff)

So if your car has a big lead and your head unit has a little hole, you need this

And if your car has a little lead, and your head unit has a big hole, then you need the one you posted a picture of - on the back of it should be a little push-fit socket.
