Hi.  My parents are looking to sell their Rover 216SLi Auto.  It was given to them by an older relative for Mom to use, but she's never been well enough so apart from a couple of runs to the coast, it's hardly been used for the last few years - Dad has his own car.  It's kept in a garage, and it's garage serviced every year, has four good tyres and 214SEi 7-spoke alloys.  The front bumper is a bit bent thanks to the previous owner.  If anyone would be interested, let me know with an idea of what you think it's worth (we know it's really not worth a lot), and I'll try to get some photos up here as soon as I can.  The car is in south Birmingham, not far from the old Longbridge plant.  Any questions, just ask.

Sounds interesting

Stick some photos up mate, it increases your chance of selling 10,000 fold.

There have been many questions - I still don't have any photos yet, but here's some more info to answer your questions:

Car has about 11.5 months MOT, it's on disability tax at the moment, although that's about to expire as they've got a Motability car now.  However, tax is irrelevant these days.

Tyres are all good - three of them are almost full-depth, barely-used Toyo Proxes T1-R about three years old off my old 214SEi (I did about 1000 miles on them before it finally died), fourth is some other one that Dad put on after he picked up a puncture.  It has the original spare (I think), and I'm sure the tool kit is there, but I'll have to check.

Should have MOTs with it to prove mileage, but it is genuine - it was bought from new by my great uncle (he was that, r some other similar relationship to me, I can't quite remember), he rarely used it, and he gave it to my parents when he decided he was in no fit state to drive any more.  He'd knocked the front wings about a bit on his gate posts, so Dad had them replaced.  The bumper is a bit marked as that wasn't replaced.

Exhaust system has surface rust (mentioned at the MOT, not sure if it was an advisory or not), but it's solid.  Not sure about the keys, I would imagine they're both there.  Dash clock is currently missing (it's in my garage awaiting the iron & credit card ribbon fix), and it has the original radio cassette.

It's R-Reg, so that would make it something like 1997?  It's tahiti blue, and it's a 5-door.
