Any steam train buffs here?

Remember it's going from York to Edinburgh on the 28th. It's not making the return journey until the 7th of March. It's rumoured to be spending the week in the yard at Thornton.Considering the crowds that gather wherever it goes I thought it would be fully booked weeks ago but I could have booked four seats. It's not even that expensive, £95 for and adult and £50 for a child.

You could drive into the Thornton yard until a few weeks ago and gawp at the Union of South Africa but they've put monster gates up now so you can't get anywhere near.

Went to Prestonpans to see it today.

Fact du jour: If you stand a stationary steam loco under overhed wires, your supposed to have a spotter to make sure the overheads don't track (arc electricity).As an aside the Flying Scotsman is off Southall 14:30 monday, Reading an hour later, LeamingtonSpa 18:21, Snow Hill by 9
