Stuff I should not have been seeing.............

Had a few beers Friday night and decided that I would spend Saturday and Sunday this week working on my truck.......I've got loads of bits for it now but just haven't got around to doing anything.

 

So Saturday dawned...........lovely day. Took dog out, followed by a nice cuppa which drifted into a coffee break which in turn drifted into lunch.

 

So about 2 hours done on truck........and one of those seemed to be spent fucking things up.

 

Still there is always Sunday.

 

Went to a dance Saturday night.........

 

'theres a do on here tomorrow why don't you bring your car?'

 

'Can't.....going to work on me truck'

 

So Sunday and off I go to Weedon Garrison for their open day.........it is local (ish) and I never even knew it was there

This place was stacked out with ready removed parts and part stripped cars.......maybe a useful contact for some. Seemed like a decent fella too.

Pics are great! What a cracking place that looks, too....Austin truck is a Three-Way (at least the cab design is ). F88 lovely. Was that a hangar dance or something on there on the Sat, then?

I was really surprised........I never knew how much of Weedon there was!

 

To me it was just the place where the VoSA test station was......and they were known as being nasty buggers so we always went to P/boro or Royston. Weedon was forever tarnished.

 

Weedon Garrison apparently dates back to Napoleonic times and had the French invaded it was where the King would have been taken before escaping abroad.......a Royal villa was built for this. It carried on in military use but is now industrial/sales area.

 

This is an annual event....the dance was a 1940s do in the nearby village hall
