Think many young folk have been priced out of the car market, insurance is sky high, student loans, house is way out of the question unless you babby a girl, and your lifes fucked anyhow after that.

Iphones, Ipads, and shit like that are mainly what they want/need cars are just another massive expense their pennies cant stretch to

I like the cut of your job, sir. When I become Emperor, you will be my chief machine-gunner.

I suspect we will need a lot of bullets.

Dust off the guillotine. I want to see heads roll.

Let's bring back National Service, send them to one of those criminal wars that only make the ruling elite richer and have them machinegunned.

Let's have those machinegunned, too.

Errrrrrmmm.... All this talk of National Service and machine gunning has got me a little worried.... This criminal war you're referring to, does it involve Lebensraum?

Christ, my clio has electric windows and I consider that a luxury, what was wrong with keep fit windows?!

No. Oil.

Both Miss Alfs are delicate girls........

Both have had to learn how to carry out basic checks on their car (both had same Corsa B to start!).

Also had to learn how to change a wheel and bulbs.

They wanted to learn this simply because I would let them drive till they had.

Also no radio till they had passed their test and had been driving a few months.

I also lectured at length about the lack of ABS and air...........warning them that if they crashed they were going to get hurt so be bloody careful.

I sold the Corsa recently and the mum of the new owner looked pretty horrified when I pointed this out.

TLDR = Responsibility for educating kids lays with us!

"Space for loving"?

That's not usually a priority on a battlefield...

I love my eldest daughter very much - especially that she wants  "a proper Beetle" rather than a modern car.

Both of them actually like going round car shows but the younger one seems drawn to more modern stuff, though she does like the Mk 2 Golf GTi so we might have some leverage there with her.

Number 1 son likes anything with an engine - the bigger the better.

Trouble is I think I need to buy something sooner before prices get so silly I cant afford one without selling a kidney ( BTW - how much do you get for a kidney these days?)

No. Oil.

In that case - approved.

These kind of skills are passed from father to son.

Lucky you. My dad struggled with changing a rear lamp bulb on his Mk1 Escort estate. This was also the first time I heard anyone swear and he got in trouble when I asked my mum why he was saying 'sheet' when working on the car. I've mainly learnt by ballsing stuff up and learning not to do that again. Or get someone else to do it...
