Ford were having a laugh with that strapline for the '85 model - "Ford cares about quality"That was the year they bought the terrible russian steel. C, D and E reg Fords had AWFUL metal quality"Sierra '85 - Rusts like a Bastard" would have been more appropriate

They used to say "Ford gives you more" as well, didn't they. My wife had an early Mk4 Escort 1.4L. I couldn't believe how spartan it was, and my automotive history was almost exclusively 1970s British povo-spec shitters.
