Well I went to a BBQ today at a friends, where us cold war car loving nutters had a meet up, and Cyanide Steve was there with his  diesel powered Volvo estate, which has managed to slip out of Scotland to Kent no less!!! That must really make the SVM upset LOL

The Estelle looks amazing.

 

A mate of mine used to buy those for no more than a Bullseye with tax and ticket included. That was of course back in the mid 1980s when they were worth fuck all because fools thought they were rubbish. They werent, amazing little motors. 

 

They took all manner of abuse at his hands, he would park them and leave the keys in them safe in the knowledge that they would still be there when he got back. I dont think he knew how to check the oil, certainly made a point of not bothering. He would run them until tax or ticket ran out. If he could be arsed he would chuck them in for an MOT which they nearly always seemed to pass, if not he would bridge them and buy another.

 

Folk used to rib him mercilessly while sobbing gently, head in hands, while they looked at the finance agreement for their new Ford Pubic or Vauxhall Anus.
