The ones released as an A reg were Datsun Micras. I doubt there are many left.o

There certainly aren't many early ones left. This is my own A plate example when bought. It's now got proper front springs fitted since this photo was taken.

Their still very popular entry class Autograss racers and that's where the majority are disappearing to at present.

 

This silver example looks very tidy for the year..the build quality tailed off a bit on the final ones and they can rust nearly as badly as the very first.

Somebody get it bought before they all dissapear!

Returning from an evening blat in my latest shitemobile, I stopped to chat to the seller of the Micra, who was outside next to his recently bought Megane.  He is an dude of some years, who likes a smoke.  He seems v pleasant.  I told him I had put a shout out to some car maniacs and he might get a bite.  He seemed OK with that.

Someone flashed his lights at me close to Thame Park. I was heading into Thame.  Was that you coming the other way?  MG?  How very dare you!  As the saying goes, I would rather push my Triumph than drive an MG; but in the spirit of comity I did exchange a civilised wave with a rubber bumper MGB in Chinnor later on.
