mercrocker Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 I ordered four tyres from Tyreleader and processed my payment by credit card. I got an order number but no email confirmation and neither can I see an order in my account on their site. I know the email link is working because I requested a new password and that all came through OK. I know some on here have used this service but is this normal? Cannot seem to be able to contact them either.....
messerschmitt owner Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 has your credit card been debited? Have you checked?
mercrocker Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 Nothing showing on my card account when I checked online...Wonder if its because my card wont work outside UK?
RobT Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 I got an email order confirmation, then a tracking email a week later. Payment didn't show in my account for a week or so IIRC, and the reference wasn't immediately apparent as being from tyreleader so it had me scratching my head for a moment.
mercrocker Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 All seems OK now. Its just everywhere else I have used online you get an immediate mail order confirmation - this took nearly 24 hours to update! Don't like this online buying malarkey but bloody hell they are cheap! 2 Uniroyals for the damper van £73 - a single ditchfinder is £50 locally gordonbennet 1
Jim Bell Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 I got a confirmation the next day after ordering. Got the tyres 3 days later.
forddeliveryboy Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Don't like this online buying malarkey but bloody hell they are cheap! 2 Uniroyals for the damper van £73 - a single ditchfinder is £50 locally First time I ordered from a German-based online tyre distributor, I thought I'd ring them up to order, using the freephone uk number on the web page - not believing that ordering online from a foreign country could possibly work. It all turned out to seem so dodgy - the lady on the other end sounded as if she spoke English as her third or fourth language, she had a strong German accent although ethinically she sounded as if she hailed from the Southern Seas. It took an age for us to understand each other, my email address was rejected by her computer (so no confirmation, but she did give me her name!) and I was convinced they wouldn't arrive, that I'd been scammed. They arrived three days later.
mrcitroen Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Ordered tyres for the Alfa from Oponeo a few times (based in Poland) & always arrived within a few days. Got the GS Michelins from Pneus online ( France) both are way cheaper than any UK based source I could find. What's more surprising is that I have been buying stuff for the GS from both France & Germany and the bits are arriving far faster than a lot of UK based car parts places, typically within 48 hrs. Last night I placed an order for balljoints for the GS from UK based premier factors. Never got a confirmation email, but have PayPal receipt. Hmmmmmm
Stanky Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Mercrocker, My order confirmation arrived after the tyres did. No idea what caused such a delay on an email confirmation but overall I was very pleased with the service. I think that in the worst possible scenario you can request a refund on your CC up to 180 days later, so don't panic!
mercrocker Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 Cheers Stanky, I am sure all is OK. Even the technophobic old giffer at work who keeps his Tesco mobile in a belt holster and phones people to see if they got his emails has used Tyreleader so I was not overly worried. The timeframe just seems out of kilter. I have now got my email confirmation and a courteous reply to my query so all looks well! Stanky 1
