well the G-nome said y'all might actually be interested in the crap that i dabble with.  I have a GEO metro or 7????  I have nicer cars and faster cars.... but for some insane rreason the friggim metro makes me smile every time i pass somebody in a nicer car (every car)  i think.... my car cost less tham  most cars  monthly payments.  the TURD for this post is a crap geo metro convertible that i have had for yrs and i finally came up with a game plan for it.  Why not totally bastardize it and start driving it.  so the parts search has been in the works for a couple yrs.  The TURD as is   92-94? geo metro 3 banger(52 squirrel power if it ran) slushbox,  red,  convert(top crap)

Items aquired so far.  92-94 swift GTI for the frontend, side skirts? 4 wheel disc brakes.

89-91 bumpers...92-94 bumpers.... decisions

89-91 tail lights..... 92-94 tail lights.... more decisions

a RHD dash and steering rack from 94 RHD on the metro site.....

pics to follow after i go get a pizza.

yeah, note to self... put on glasses before typing.... i'll try to not appear to be a total f-tard hick from da hillz....Disease... thats better

I went to buy the wheels..... and he threw a number at me for the shell.... another rusty POS... with lots of pickins..... off'd a pile and i am using the firewall as practice for the conversion.

my goal is to pre-stage the RHD conversion and borrow my buddies shop with a lift... and thrash from friday to sunday and complete 90+% of the conversion and take it home and not clutter up his shop with metro droppings

more later if interest... else i can let the thread fade into the sunset

I understand your obsession with a certain car but why are you turning them into RHD and putting loads of swift bits on, wouldn't it be easier and cheaper just to import one?

only one will be rhd

did i mention the part where a TURD metro costs less than one of your car payments.....   i aquired a pile of parts and decided to fab something not like every other car...(i like fabbing weird crap)      also to make fun of the ricer kids with their sticker bombed nissan 240 SX's that run/drive/handle/look like the dogs barf.  never considered trying to find a real RHD swift/cultus/justy.   although a 4wd justy would be giggles to thrash.....

I also helped a buddy out and instead of paying me he kept delivering metros to me..... i begged him to stop... i had to stop helping him.

In the US, it's very hard ( read impossible) to import a non US spec car unless it is historic, which has to be 25 or 30 years old, although I guess a Swift, if you could find one, might sneak in if 25 years is the cut-off.

Who sold Geos? I thought it was a Chevrolet sub-brand, or could you get them from other GM dealers like Buick or GMC?

Also I know they did the Tracker (Vitara) and Prizm (California built Corolla) but was there anything else?

Yay Ken, glad to see you've got a thread up to show us where you're coming from!

This is our man in North Carolina who's after some more RHD bits from the green Justy I'm breaking.

Are they all 3-pots over there Ken?

prolly 99.9%... i heard of an odd 4 door trunk modle with 1.3L      UNTIL 95 -01... then they mixed them up 3.. 4

Wow.

Back in the day I had a Swift four door saloon, it was AWD (like a Justy) but with the 1.6 16v, as used in the Vitara. That went fairly well!
