Remember this? The Vel Satis that I "won" after being shilled and never heard anything more about? It was for sale by a seller called bbb197, located in Bracknell.

 

 

Well I was browsing the Bay last night and came across this - a Toyota Corolla Verso being sold by someone called nigelgrundy1, in Leicester. Does the background to the pic look familiar to anyone...?

I noticed that the Vel Satis was back up on the Bay again.The "Bracknell" seller is an outfit called Sterling Cars in Reading - they operate out of a yard with palm trees and lots of gravel (hence the pictures) down the side of an Esso filling station about a mile from where you collected the 304 from. The bloke changes his username (and now location) on a fairly regular basis - his cars always come up in my regular local shite searches because the auctions always start at £100 no reserve. Reading his feedback it seems that a fair proportion of the cars are not as they appear.Not sure where the Leicester connection comes in - could well be that Sterling Cars sold the Verso to said fella, it's a dog, and he's selling it on using the same photos. I've seen another motor with the same palm trees recently being sold further North, too.

You could well be right - hadn't thought of that. That Verso is in Mr Grundy's feedback as having been bought from bbb197. Bit worrying that he's selling it on a couple of weeks after buying it though, and odd that he's used the same description and photos and started the bidding at £100 NR again when he paid £1661 for it. Either way I won't be bidding...

That vel sat did look like it might be a bit tired which is probably not a good thing as parts are damned expensive if the bills that came with mine are anything to go by. The seller sound like one to steer well clear of IMO.

Sterling are pretty well known in the Reading area as one of those you steer clear of. Pretty bad rep to be honest.
