Bren Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I was toying with the idea of trying to cure the fiestas leaking thermostat hosing by using some kind of gasket compound. I was thinking of something more permanent than hylomar - I liberally used hylomar when I fitted the housing. Any ideas?
beko1987 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Watching this as I used hylomar on the merivas sump and its shit there too...
twosmoke300 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Loctite black hi temp silicone . cheap in halfords esp with trade card
Bren Posted October 15, 2014 Author Posted October 15, 2014 The housing has a rubber gasket - this has obviously failed. My idea was to try and repair it rather than spend £20 on another one.

barmatt Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Another vote for the Wynns gasket maker, get the professional stuff it's ace. I'm sure you can get it cheaper but this is the stuff.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wynns-Professional-Instant-Power-Can-Gasket-Maker-Silicone-RTV-Black-200ml-57680-/281153532845?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item41760e73ad
