Anyone around Bexhill who could fit a gearbox?

Long story short, I've seen a VW T4 van on the bay. The lad who owns it has had the clutch out, changed it and now "can't get tbe box back in".

 

Anyone out there who could do it for me, as it's a bit much for me to travel all that way with a bag full of tools.

 

Obviously it would be a proper paying job.

Try giving Philimores garage a call.

They are only in Beeching Road and are really helpful and will give you a price before starting any work I can't praise them enough and are proper old school mechanics.

 

The last car I took in was my fathers golf V5 as a rear spring had snapped and it was done in a couple of hours and cost including parts and vat £60.
