Joke of the week

Citroen H van mobile catering units !

Are they for real, If built to UK specs the electrics will need substantial work, even the plug sockets are different.

Then it needs to be partially stripped and inspected after it is landed, particularly if it is "restored". then registered, not to mention shipping costs.

I think the price of $nz70,000 is for a restored van only and fitout is extra!

The real joke, over here at least, is that these people think they are being "unique".   You cant go to an outdoor event now without it looking like Gennevilliers at 5am on a Tuesday morning.   Or at least it would if they weren't all painted funkily* rustic*.    Cant remember the last time I saw a properly grey and rusty H van with nothing in it.

I been keeping an eye on old French vans. H vans are mental money - you need about £25k + for a food retail setup which seems barmy., Estafettes and J7s are more sensible...

Come to sunny Mumbles!  This is parked a mile down the road from me, right now:

Granted it doesn't look all that rusty, but the sea is just out of shot about 50 yards to the right, so it soon will be.

I saw one of these a couple of days ago in central Brussels, incidently it was parked near a London Transport Routemaster. I have pics of both, will stick them up later when I get back to the land of Eng.
