Wilko220 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Interesting piece about the man and the cars. He's just died aged 101. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/11006213/Jean-Panhard-obituary.html forddeliveryboy, anonymous user, Manbearpig and 6 others 9
Wilko220 Posted August 3, 2014 Author Posted August 3, 2014 Reminds me of seeing this stunner at Harpenden last year. I don't suppose there can be that many over here. myglaren, Jim Bergerac and Shep Shepherd 3
vulgalour Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Seems rare for anyone within the car industry to reach such a ripe old age. Partridge 1
carlo Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I would kill for one of those 24CTs, the sound they make is amazing. I've often seen that green one, has been around for ages.
dollywobbler Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 It's tragic really that such individualism never seems to survive in a world of white goods. Panhards frankly make Citroens seem awfully mainstream and sensible! Fair play to Jean though. Good innings and a main of principle it seems! Amusing that Panhard trucks became Citroens, but are now part of Renault Trucks owned by Volvo! WTF? Wilko220 and Shep Shepherd 2
Shep Shepherd Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 A long life, well lived. Pawnote: pronouncing the surname Panhard the correct (French) way is great fun
