Ypsilanti Orphan Car Show

Hello everyone,

My first post, although I've lurked for some time. Although I don't live there now, I've spent some time in the area of Detroit, where influence of the car industry combined with no annual car inspections *at all* means I hopefully have a few interesting pictures for you all.

First off, this year's Ypsilanti Orphan Car Show, so called because only cars whose manufacturer is defunct in the United States are allowed to enter.

Ugly and enormous 1985 Packard Hearse was outside the entrance:

Very nice Renault 16 (the state of Michigan only requires rear plates, so you are allowed French ones on the front):

1972 US-spec DS, without those ever-so dangerous swivelling headlights:

Amphicar with '09' sticker on the wing is a legal registered boat:

LLoyd 600

Crazy 1949 Davis military prototype:

This Studebaker Daytona looked very tatty next to the shiny ones, but was still currently registered:

1948 Davis Delta:

Film star! This 1952 Hudson Hornet is in a local museum (in a building that housed the last Hudson dealership in the world):

I don't know how big a post can be, so I'll hold off here; more soon!

Great first post. I think Raymanboy would like that hearse, just imagine the eBay description :)

Fantastic, can't wait to see more! Dunno why, but it amazes me that things like the DS and the Renner 16 exist in the U.S.

Great stuff, that Lloyd is wonderful, Davis reminds me of Heckle and Jeckle:
