Just to clarify this then, is it that you sold the 16TS to Bowker or did you sell the 16 to someone else and it was that person that told you about the R20 ??

I think that those adverts are being transfered over from the old 'for sale' board by a moderator, so i doubt that he has checked that the advert is still current, more than likely its the old advert from a year ago and the car is long gone.

No need. Gary, the mod who posted it up (and who does the RCCC website) lives but 200yds down the road from me. He emailed me that ad when he recieved it which is why I know it's recent.

All I know is that his name was David Bowker. I advertised the car on the RCCC website. I got a phone call from him. He was softly spoken,asked me in great detail about the car. We then exchanged a number of emails. He paid me for the car and I arranged the delivery for him. The car was delivered to a Garage in Penrith to be MOT'd and he collected it there and brought it to Hertfordshire. I never met him,but he was extremely in depth,John

On the subject of Old Rennows, does anyone remember a geezer called Simon German who lived (or lived) up in Lincs (Louth I think)?I bought some Renaugh 8 bits from him some 20 years ago. Mad on old 8/10/12/16 stuff. Not that there is anything wrong with that of course.

He was in Louth I think. He was the R16 registrar for the ROC for many years. I think he had R11s after that - swore by them.

I went through some old Renotes last night, and his name was everywhere.He had unbelievable amount of parts/shite etc. Where has it all gone.The amount of 16's and 17's for sale at that time---1998.

Where is he now I wonder? Back in 1989 I rebuilt a 1965 8 Gordini and bought a load of stuff from him - four mint Rennaux 10 doors (same as the Eight), a transaxle, some new chrome etc.Decent bloke, mad keen.
