Tyre Sidewall Damage

Recommended Posts

Got a puncture today, screw in tread closest to inner sidewall and I didn't notice and ran it flat, not really fussed tbh as it was the last original tyre on the car from new and was getting low on tread, tread was cracked in the grooves etc so its no loss but when I changed it I noticed obviously the outer sidewall where it said "Continental Sport Contact" and the size etc was all worn away almost smooth in a perfect circle round the whole sidewall, I expected to find the inner sidewall the same but it was perfect, was like a brand new tyre there, just wondered how the fuck this would happen? As obviously both sidewalls would've ran along the road getting worn :S

It might be the offside, depends on whether his wife also drives it.

Is it the n/s/f or n/s/r tyre perchance?

Yip, NSR, I assume the reason why what happened happened is the same reason you knew it was a nearside one.

Cavette, if that's an attempt at a joke its too late in the day and I'm too tired to fathom it out.

What type of car is it and are the wheels standard? I bought 5 alloys for my Corsa and the last owner if the wheels must have had their car really low and have had a bent suspension component as one tyre was rubbing on the wheelarch as the sidewall is all worn away. I use that one as a spare.

Yeah standard wheels and suspension, its a 2009 mk3 Clio with 195/50/16 tyres
