eddyramrod Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I'd be surprised if he is, but he darn well should be! Angrydicky and Junkman 2
Station Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Nice, but it says he stopped driving it a years ago (it still has a parking ticket in the window). I doubt he's going to drive that again, it looks like a Mazda publicity stunt.
mat_the_cat Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 Yeah, Mazda are definitely going to be keen on the publicity, but I got the impression from the article (and other stuff I found) that he was attached to the car. Anyway, if I had the cash I'd love to do something similar!
mercrocker Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Know what? that's great, that is....Kids idolize ball players and if they see just one of those guys swimming upstream instead of kitting out another Lexuzzz it might just change a couple of things. And a couple of things changing is better than everything just getting worse and worse. Christ, I sound like a ball coach myself! Junkman and eddyramrod 2
Skizzer Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 ^ Completely agree. I especially like that he/they chose to restore it rather than PIMP IT UP YO (well, apart from restitching the seats). Even if Mazda's US PR people are in there somewhere, I still like the story. I'm not sure Bentley's people will be quite so chuffed at having their logo on the show plate of a Mazda 626, mind you, but them's the breaks. Question: If all the NFL players now want 90s Japanese family cars, does this mean Hirst is now a millionaire overnight? Junkman 1
Junkman Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Well, the seats may have needed recovering anyway and it's unlikely that you can still find original yardage. So covering them with something harking to the car's nickname is OK with me.I think they did a good job on the resto and the guy is certainly one of us. I can relate to this. Even if I was a goddamn millionaire, I'd continue to buy cars like this. Just more of them. *Edit: I mean, if Mr Morris isn't a quintessential Autoshiter, what with preferring his '91 J-tin barge to some newfangled shit, then I would like to learn the definition of the term.Even if you bloody gold-plate a '91 Mazda, give it the whole Swarovski treatment, and decorate the back seat withMarisa Miller, it's still shite, no? chaseracer, mercrocker, Skizzer and 2 others 5
