Need to insure 2 cars but only 1 lot of no claims bonus

Quoting silly  prices on alfa.£600 plus.

Did have trade insurance but didnt feel that i was really insured with £500 excess.

Plus they were pestering me for proof of trading almost daily, kept sending stuff but it wasnt enough

What is alternative.

Peter James & Footman James are the ones I usually use.

The policy I have is a mixed classic & modern policy which works out rather cheap (£650 this year for 8 cars) but you need to have more classic cars than modern ones. Mine comes with unlimited mileage, class1 business use and cover for driving other cars.

The policy with FJ doesn't use NCB, but the one with PJ does, it's one policy so one lot of NCB.

After being told there was nothing that could be done with one no claims bonus and two cars I persuaded my broker (A Plan) to try harder and they came up with a scheme whereby my new policy would be discounted at the same rate as the existing one with the NCB.

Then I bought a van as well and the same deal applied. I have full NCB on the one car and the other two have no NCB, just the discount as if  NCB applied. Each motor is insured with a different company, the premium being roughly the same in each case at about £220.

With insurance the difficult bit is finding the right person to talk to. Places like those that TV advertise constantly are best avoided unless you are a very simple straightforward customer. Their staff work to a script and everything off script is too much bother.
