English Ford Dorset

Having seen Brookjms dealer plates in his Sierra thread, I thought that would be just the thing for my old Cossie. (Yes, the one I haven't driven for 2 years )

I went to find the paperwork to see who the supplying dealer was and if they were on the website.

English Ford Poole Dorset. It looks from Google that they might still be there. Anyone in the area know anything about them?

I did see that dealer available on the DMB graphics website. I dont know anything of their recent history but Col Ronnie Hoare of Maranello Concessionaires fame  used to run it and prior to starting the official importers business in 1960 he used to put ferrari sports racers through the service bays!

 

I can recommend the plate people though, the plates are good quality and they were turned around inside a week. Recon they'd finish that cossie of yours off nicely!

My sports car racing in camera book shows them racing a GT40 in period so they were definitely not your typical Dorsetshire ford dealers!

They are near the top end of Old Wareham Rd, well out of Poole town centre, close to Ringwood Rd.  I know them well, used to take my '72 Galaxie 500 to their old premises in Poole Rd, Branksome, for MOT.

might be able to get you an inside contact there if you need one.
