Autoshite books (featuring the dog and lemon guide)

A few years ago I sent a month driving a camper van round New Zealand, and as one of my many entertainments I picked up a copy of 'The Dog and Lemon Guide'. This is a magazine sized paperback with 800 pages of 2nd hand car reviews that basically says everything that isn't a Toyota Camry is a piece of shite that will break down, kill you, eat your children then finish with an unspeakable act on your wife in the bushes.

However despite the fact that it lies like a bastard (Apparently the Mazda 6 is one of the most reliable cars ever made, so can only assume they don't get the same ones that are sent here). It does have some fairy entertaining general articles that are also posted on-line. So follow the link here and have some fun looking at what the Aussies and Kiwi's think about various motoring aspects in general.

If anybody wants a shortened review of their car from the 2010 guide then I will oblige, but it will be shit whatever it is. As an example the Fiat Ducato Van that I drove 2000 miles around NZ in and I (handbrake location excepted) found it to be perfectly dull and viceless is described as 'Cheaply and poorly built, the Ducato is the ideal vehicle to recommend to your enemies.'

Lastly, if you have some Autoshite reading material to recommend to the rest of us, then please add it to the thread as a good book is a welcome way to waste a cold winters evening.

The Dog & Lemon Guide is great bedtime reading but, as you say, it's unbelievably biased towards Toyota.
