Never clear your windows again. Cheers Nissan(!)

It as good as says that you don't have to pay any attention to the road, as the car will do it all for you.

Should be illegal.

Makes me laugh all the stupid technology on cars today. What happened to actually looking in your blind spot, paying attention to the road instead of straying over your lines. Same can be said for Abs and traction control. Both are useless in the snow. Cadence braking and good clutch control will do wonders. What happens 10 years or so down the line when this safety shield starts acting up and detecting vehicles, objects or white lines that aren't there.

Nissan will say the vehicle only has a service life of ten years, so their conscience will be clear.

I think a large percentage of Microbe drivers seem to act as if they have this system already....

Imagine the cost of a heated, electrically adjustable and foldable, colour-coded, camera-equipped mirror, too.

People buying cars with this system almost deserve to have them wellied off by some pond-dwelling shitehawk. :D

I tried a Golf out at the NEC Gadget Show, it had that park assist thing which has a 360° radar thing. It was utter crap and tried to pitch the car into a plastic wall, much to the embarrassment of the lass demonstrating.

I can only imagine a similar system in use at higher speeds to be bloody dangerous.

I do like parking sensors, but I can quite easily do without them. I fear for drivers who rely on the car to do more and more.

Or do I fear for my person/property when it's next to them?

The second one.

The only thing I thought was cool was Jaguars night vision thing, but still.

Just been reading about Nissan's autonomous leaf. What is this world coming to.

You'll be able to have a hands free wank next :smile:

Isn't that classed as a hand job? :)

I usually have hands free wanks.

Or "sex with a woman" as I prefer to refer to it.

On a less needlessly sexual note,

Things that encourage, or allow drivers to pay less attention, should be banned and then burned.
