I am not a 100 percent nutcase I do often use the luxury of my 306 dizzler mainly because I cant afford the fuel and sometimes I want to get to work without the shakes after watching the temp gauge the whole run there and stinking of various fumes.

I had missed this thread. Car looks good. Does seem a bargain at that price as they do go for a lot.

I don't think Stags are that bad are they? Sure they can break down but they have been around long enough for people to have work arounds for the most obvious problems?

I like the front and back of them but really don't like the B piller. It ruins the line of the car. Sure it might save your life but it just doesn't look good and if you wanted a safe car you would buy a modern with a top notch NCAP rating.

If I had one I would defo redesign it so that the B piller roll bar by maybe losing the rear seats, plating over them for structural rigidity and a bigger boot or something similar. Well, I actually wouldn't as I am all talk and no action but that's what I would like to do.

Well my 306 decided that in the week it didn't want to charge the battery no more, so the alternator retired itself from duties.

Leaving for work at 0630 and getting back at 1830 everyday meant I wasn't going to piss about doing it night, even though I now have a nice garage. So did a good couple of hundred of miles in the staaaag. Don't wanna work out the mpg, just keep putting cash money in it and telling myself yeah it must me doing 20 to the gallon.

Used this loads through the winter, never failed to start once or even give me one bit of trouble, was stuck a few times on the m42 in heavy traffic and never exploded, which was nice.

I recently moved where I work so the commute is only 8 mile each way instead of 33 one way, so in feb it was only used weekends as it was a pain to get it out the garage etc etc etc when the 306 gets me there in 15 mins.

So I am thinking about selling it now, my lucks been good and its not gone up in steam, so I am tempted to take someones money and run.

I only ended up buying it after looking for a van to move house, used my 306 instead as the van, and loads needs doing to the house still and money is getting tight. Plus I have the williams which needs loads doing to it and thats gonna cost ££££££ with me doing all the work still.

Well this was sold to my dad a few months ago who did about 4.6 miles in it so told me to sell it, I bought it for £4200 and sold it to dad for that. After browsing the worlwide web we decided to take a chance and advertise it for a bit more, after being on ebay from sat night, it was sold on sunday for £7000 so we split the profit between us, take that the doctor!!!!

I cant really believe it usually I buy a car that I think is good, and it turns out to be a crock of shit, so I spend many hours fixing it and buying parts so in the end I am normally thousands down.

Its come at a good time really, as I am pretty skint, knee deep in house refurbing crap, I wish I could afford some more chod, but I cant so I will have to enjoy* driving my 306 dizzler to work everyday till funds improve.

Anyhow nearly a year of trouble free motoring from a reliable 70's triumph.
