Found these today, all within 5 minute walk from my front door (there is a council estate not far from me that should be prime shite spotting when I get more time) Enjoy for now..

I'm sure I can do better than this if I venture abit further from my front door next time, and improve on trespassing skillz!

Its parked along the road, not sure who's it is but don't even think about nabbing it....its fitted with a 90s style Halfords stop lock! 8)

I see you've been to Rochford! I must be very close to you :)

Pretty sure I know the council estate you mention too, if it's the one I'm thinking of there's a really rough Minor and an A reg Volvo 340 saloon parked there.

I haven't seen a F reg Mk3 Fiesta as tidy as that for a long while!

It is even finished in 'F reg Fiesta blue'. Love it.

Hi there yes I live in Rochford, quite often see shite about. You get some right crusty old shite parked in the square sometimes too, I see a seriously flaky old T-reg Volvo saloon in orange, also a primer grey mk1 Cav and sometimes a yellow one too which I would like to pap 8) and about 3 weeks ago a green Triumph dolly.

Just noticed your fleet Dicky, have you seen the pale green over cream Austin Cambridge in Rochford? Think its a 1968 F plate and the guys owned it from new!

Posted

I know where the primer MK1 Cav lives, and I'm sure I've seen the other one on the road near the Anne Boleyn.

Is the Cambridge the one that's always parked outside the betting shop in Rochford? It's a Wolseley 16/60 if so, and is driven by an old boy. Can't think of any others around here! I bought my Cambridge from Rochford as it happens (I live in the Shoebury area).

Doh sorry pretty useless with pre 70s stock if its not a Rover  Yes that's the one, the old boy is always in that bookies!

I'd love to know of any SD1's in our area, I know of only one now which is in Leigh!

I know the one in Leigh, and there's also a blue VDP in Rayleigh. Can't think of any more of the top of my head. There used to be another yellow MK1 SD1 in Rochford (FHJ 794T IIRC) that was always parked along the Ashingdon Road, oh, about five years ago. Is that yours?

Posted

FHJ 794T was mine for 5 years, I used to live on the Ashingdon Rd 8)  I sold it to a collector in Scotland who still keeps in touch, recognise this?

Miss it really, got it from an old dear in Victoria Ave near Priory Park in 2006.

Where is the Blue VDP in Rayleigh? I am always over there not seen it

Ah cool, small world! Used to drive past that all the time on my way to and from college. I reckon you should definitely ask for first refusal if he ever wants to sell it, it was stunning.

The SD1 is in a cul-de-sac not far from Rayleigh Weir. It's not a VDP though, I remembered it wrongly. 2600 converted to a V8!

Got any old motors at the moment?

He offered it back last year however I have moved and no longer have a garage like I used to, the Rover was often in there so you must of caught it in the summer months outside! It was lovely but needed attention in places, now carries MOO 229R from the professionals;

Currently without a car, but hope to get something next month, not sure what yet

Any neighbours or relatives who don't use their garages? You could offer to mow their lawn or something in return.

If he's still got it and it's a sensible price what a great opportunity that would be. I'd love to see that back in Rochford, and what an amazing drive home as well! 8)

My nan in Westcliff has an empty garage but the Rover wouldn't fit in it, like most garages! But you never know one day but I enjoyed the 5 years I owned it.

I would be tempted by that lovely silver VDP in Leigh though if it came up for sale now! The guys owned it for years, the problem is I have a classic and a modern (ish) car itch.
