Ha, yes - sorry about that!  Is Mr Wendle the camper still about btw - not sure I've seen him/it for a while?

No, it was sold and is currently over Wakefield/Ponte Carlo way IIRC. Think it might be getting a little 'scened' but its better than it languishing on the drive as it had done for several years. Its called Van Beatty now apparently. I dont get on FB too much these days so have not seen any updates but I think its getting worked on.

Is your Audi on the road at the mo? From memory when I spoke to you after finding the photos of my chod online, you said it was stored elsewhere for a while?

Welcome aboard Dave,

Lovely looking Audi and it really looks nice in Jewish Racing Gold I think it' really suits the car.

Good to hear someone has some plans for it - always worrying when quality stuff like that disappears from a driveway..

Yeah, the Audi's taxed and on the road at the moment. I have a house with a garage now, so moved it out of storage a few months back.  It's even done a few long trips lately too, so it's getting a bit of use.

There was one briefly very exciting moment in Leeds a few weeks back when a VW Quantum (US Santana) in the same colour as my Audi started following me on the ring road.  I exchanged a wave & thumbs up with the driver, but wish we'd stopped to chat and get a pic of the two together now!

Luckily though, it's a car I've seen about before - in fact here it is:

Those German style plates are awful, well done for getting rid of those!

I think it looks better on steels and without the front spoiler thing actually, but I am probably incorrect on those points.

It might go back to steelies eventually, although I'd need a set of chrome centre caps.  I quite like the idea of being able to make minor changes to it every so often.  Maybe I'll go back to CL spec next...

I remember reading an article about your 80 in Car Mechanics a couple of years ago :)

Nice slab of Spandau Ballet you've got there.  It's really odd seeing one of those Audis that looks like I remember them looking when I was growing up.

A high-spec Audi 80 (or 90) is just the car I can picture Tony Hadley driving in the mid-1980s :)

Welcome! Nice 80!

Indeed the HiAce Camper is now on my mates drive, although it is no longer a camper, he managed to source a pick up bed/dropside for it, so it's just awaiting a rear window before that can go on. It's being looked after though thankfully. I don't think it'll get too scene taxed, but to be honest, it's a better fate than it was facing.

The gold corolla was saved in the 11th hour by a chap from RR, as the girl who owned it comprehensibly cooked the engine when the water pump went in traffic. IIRC its awaiting a motor transplant from a MR2.

The Sera which Mr H.Imp and I saved from this very forum, went down to Birmingham, and having just done a DVLA check looks to have moved on, but is off the road.

The white Audi 100 is now in my grubby mits, and is in hibernation in the garage. I've now got all the parts to get it through the MOT, but not the inclination for now, It'll probably go back on the road come the autumn.

Back in 2002 I did a summer working on the Royal Farms at Windsor. We had the use of this - seen here having a new clutch.
