Hillman Imp: The car that drove Linwood to disaster

I know both of the cars posted by 'Rusty Pelican' - both lovely examples indeed.

Here's my 1970 Sunbeam Stiletto, running a 998cc. Goes like a rocket, and zero overheating issues, even with the rear rad position retained.

I've owned this car for over 20 years.

998cc is fairly common, and I've seen a few 1120cc and 1200cc examples, but this is the only 1304cc I've seen. Has Norton Commando pistons, head spacer plate, long-throw crank and motorbike carbs.

I love those Imps dinglem.

This is my Imp super, I've only owned it a few months but have grown very attached.

They get under your skin (well a good one does anyway), and once you're hooked there's no going back.....!

Did you ever see it.....?

Nope, he also said he had 6 other Imps. I still bump into him now and again so will quiz him the next time I see him and report back.

Right reality check guys, can a moderator move this to the cars and girls thread and then dinglem can add more pics of his misses in front of his hillman slug, and hopefully some "tastier" pics of said misses in front of said slug.

An old work mate of mine claimed to have the newest and last built Imp. Built completely from new parts and registered on a W reg.

Coincidentally I have just seen an Imp similar to the one you describe, but on an 'X' plate. What are the odds of that surfacing?! It's for sale having been garaged since 1988.
