I can't remember what came first - my interest in cars or playing Top Trumps. I suspect the car card game was the chicken that laid the egg.

 

My missus moans about my hoarding gene but one advantage of this apparent disorder is that I still have lots of crap from my youth. After another bollocking induced clear out, I unearthed my Top Trumps. Hurrah!!

 

My first set was my favourite and they are the most played with. Photos taken with crappy iPad camera.

 

 

 

 

 

Unfortunately, there are a few cards missing.

I had the same Top Trumps set as a kid as well as a few strange other ones.  One set was called "German cars" and I think the dud car was a Merc 200 diesel, even the VW Polo (or Audi 50) could whip its arse on performance.

 

ROFL at the power outputs on the pictures above, that 1300 Alpine making 69bhp would get you laughed out of the pub these days, even though they won more rallies in the 1960s than you've had hot dinners.

Are they upside down? iPad and photobucket don't seem to like each other. They are upside down for me but the right way up in photobucket. When I view them on my phone, they are the right way round. Feck knows.
