Pug 104 engine offered

I dumped a rotten Pug 104 in my brothers garden a long time ago, why? It had a goodish recently rebuilt engine, and those were a rotten bad engine.

It's a 1978 1124 cc suitcase lump and free to collector, but there's a snag, it comes with the car, or what's left of it, this can be viewed as an inconvenience or an advantage, not towable at all but I should be able to drag it out to the road, and it needs to go a bit quick so offering it here before I call in the rag and bone man.

Salvage the salvagable and weigh in what's left.

I seem to remember someone after a suitcase engine a few months back, but from memory he wanted the 1.4.

Edit, found it:

Have you got a spare 1360 lump?

That was xmas eve!

Yeah unfortunately I passed up on that car as I couldn't fins an engine for it! D'oh!

Because one needs to remove it completely before one can unpack it (ie do anything more to it than servicing it) ;) . The block is canted back towards the bulkhead at 72 degrees, and the gearbox is in the sump.

Because they were dropped into the engine bay on their side, so looked more like a suitcase lying in the boot than an engine. this had an advantage in that oil filter, water pump, alt and carb were all sitting there on the top, disadvantage in that the gearbox was on the bottom, and the head was a bit inaccessible as well.

Because all the power packed it's bags and fucked off a long time ago.

And also, the rocker cover is held on by a pair of hinges, two catches and a combination lock.
