That's a cheap welder, does get a bit slated on that welding forum, so much so I'm tempted to get one. Not sure what to make of the comments about unsuitability for welding cars, I had something similar in the late eighties that did an awful lot of plating up old snotters, lots of old snotters, I used to be inundated with allsorts of old filth, mostly Renault 18, 14 and 5, Marinas, Beetles and Datsuns, oh my god the Datsuns. I used to use 1.0 mm rods which were fine for the job, and there was a handpiece with carbon rods that would hold an arc to braze with, that was very handy for sticking bits of rust together.

Welding is frustrating in the learner stage with a good MIG welder, I'd imagine my car would have an orifice larger than the black hole at the centre of the universe itself after doing a 'quick repair' on the arches. Do yourself a favour and spend £150 on a second hand Clarke. I had a gasless SIP and went to a Clarke (£150 second hand jobbie) and the difference, and ease of use, was huge.
