gadgetgricey Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Already asked this on the French Car Forum and not had any responses, so wondered if any one has any ideas on here regarding the query. Basically replaced the rear door on my wife's Scenic as the last one was damaged in a minor car park "incident" Got a replacement door in the same colour, so thought jobs a good 'un. However just realised that the "new" door unlocks when the other doors lock, and locks when the other doors unlock. Disconnected it once and then locked the doors and reconnected, hopeing everything might be back in line but no success. The only other thing I could think of was changing the wires round on the lock itself as I thought that might swap it from lock to unlock.(and vice versa) Anybody had this before, or have any sugestions regarding how to fix it. Thanks again. - Dave - Thanks for looking and any suggestions gratefully received. Cheers - Dave -
KruJoe Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Frag it. No SRSLY, do you still have your old door?Sounds like the servo / solenoid thing in the new door may be faulty, so try swapping that bit back in if you can. Also, are the wires all ok where they come into the door? They can break at that point on some cars.
Pillock Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Most CL I've come across has a lock wire, and an unlock wire - to stop it getting out of sync. You know, you unlock it whilst someone is holding the handle up - when you lock it again, it just locks the already locked door and doesn't cause the issue you have. So it does sound like those two wires are swapped over, weirdly enough. Perhaps someone was going to remove parts of the door like motors and switches, but then you bought it as a whole so they've half-arsedly reassembled it? If you've got the old door still, take the panels off both and suss the wiring. Hopefully you'll be able to identify the solenoid - a box with a rod out of the end, likely to be directly connected to the manual lock button inside the car. Cross your fingers and swap the wires around on that first! If not, you'll have to keep unplugging separate wires from the multiplugs and locking/unlocking till stuff starts (not) happening.
