Retro step to a PA

Half the price and all your family and friends will be able to come along for the ride too!

It owes you nowt

you don't want to sell it because you know you will never have another,

you dont need to sell it,

its costing you nothing more than a bit space for it to sit in garage,

you like to look at it,

it will never go down in value, at least not from its purchase price,

you will have plenty time when the kids grow up to drive it,

I cant see the problem just keep it and buy something else to play with that's big enough for all the family to enjoy

If it puts a smile on your face just knowing it yours, then selling it is out of the question, especially as you have said that it holds sentimental value, there is no greater value than that.

I often think about the cars I could (have) bought if I didn't have so many Rovers. But all of my Rovers put a smile on my face and I have an enthusiasm for them that any other car just simply couldnt match, no matter how much "better than Rovers" they are.

Don't sell the non-pristine Smitty to buy pristine cars which are worth less, unless you crave pristine. Rarely is a car more than 25 years old capable of being made pristine without gargantuan efforts, rarely possible. It's all smoke and mirrors which effectively (sometimes less so) conceal originality. I always knock value off a car if it is over-restored. Originality is everything.

Quarter of a century with the same car is epic - if you really adore owning and using a M-Schmitt but would like a change, sell and look out for another variant. If it were me, I'd buy something like an unrestored but fully working Traction Avant, or something with no roof and only one wheel at the back. And a Goggomobil.

it's more about lost mojo I think - other things have taken my interest and despite this being the first time in years I have had a clear garage I'm not running up the enthusiasm to go into the garage and take it apart.

It's probably one of about 10% of all schmitts in the UK with an original floor and I still like it a lot, perhaps too much to get rid!

SWMBO'd suggested killing me if I sold it.
