MoT query

When I bought my Saab, it had a private plate on it which the vendor was in the process of transferring. Cue all sorts of DVLA and insurance issues but that is another story. When I took the documents to the Post Office to tax it this week, the PO woman got a bit shirty about the MoT certificate having the old registration. Anyway, the computer said yes but she added that Plod could "get me" for this and suggested I take it to an MoT place. Shirley that can't be correct?

Used to get MOT cert stamped with new reg no - job done.

Check with test station, or check MOT online - see if it's changed to 'new' reg no.

I think when the plate got transferred, the DVLA office should have given you a replacement MOT cert with the new reg on and took the old one. They ususally have a note on them saying something like 'Transferred on x date by DVLA office'. That's what's happened whenever I've had this anyway.

J-T is correct.I have one right here infront of me and on the advisory side it states :: Transfer Issued by Blah blah blah at VRO DVLA on 05/01/13.

There is a failure sheet from the previous day with the cherished number and the current MOT issued the day after now has the new number.
