KruJoe Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Would you fit these struts? For all I know, they might last a week, or they may be fine for another 10 years. The 'dampness', I think, is waxoil or similar that had been sprayed around the wheel arches. They came from a car which drove and rode well, and had passed an MOT 700 miles before being barned here on axle stands for the last year. They're free to me, I need good ones for my car in Thailand. 850 parts are rare, expensive or unobtainable over there.
Micrashed Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Clean them up, repaint them in black hammerite and fit them
Des Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Cut off the rusty bits of coils, stanced innit.
KruJoe Posted November 24, 2012 Author Posted November 24, 2012 Yay, thanks guys.Cut off the rusty bits of coils, stanced innit. That's one of the problems! The front is too low for those roads, the ride is hard and crashy, and the strut tops are slack too.Last year I took the back springs, and that improved the rear: So, by bags will be precisely 42lb heavier on Dec 4th!If I can fit them in, I also have a set of face-lifted rear lights to make it look fresher.
