About to loose my storage

[edit] I need to find somewhere to store some cars!

For several years now there have been rumors of a new development where I live. Well yesterday the planning application was granted which is brilliant because it means they are knocking my flats down and I will be moved into a new home. Brand new. Any way they problem is the land where my garages are will be first to be cleared in order to make an access road into the site. I have two garages there and sometimes park up to 3 other cars outside them (I can because they are on the end and the neighboring 2 are just for storage not for cars. It's a great setup next to my home and costs around £40pcm.

I also sometimes park 2 cars in the flats car park one behind the other and there is ample space to do this. I could park 4 if I wanted to take the mick a bit.

I would guess my landlord will find me at least one garage elsewhere for my equipment and one car.

And I would guess I will still be able to park 2 taxed vehicles in the flats car park.

So that leaves 4 cars to be re homed, 3 of which don't have TAX:

I dare say I can bend the parental units' arm into storing a little one on their driveway since Skattrd's Maestro is going back and won't be occupying said space. Other end of the county and just over the border though, so it might not be ideal for you. This is especially useful if it's not required long term. and if it's okay for said vehicle to be parked outside as there is no shelter.

Thanks - whereabouts is that VA?

I have just got off the phone to the developers and they said I don't really have to worry yet as nothing will happen on site until April next year. All the same I'd love to find somewhere suitable in good time, instead of rushing about once an eviction notice is served on the garages!

It's Mastin Moor, Derbyshire, just off Junction 30 of the M1. There is space to keep a car there and there's outside lights, the area is fairly quiet and my parents (now retired) and their neighbours are in most of the time so there's always someone to keep an eye on things.

Edd, remember this thread of yours, asking a similar question?

Well the offer still stands, subject to negotiation with the folks. There is probably space in that dry* barn for three or four after a clear-out. If you had them all here, it would be worth the distance. Not a million miles away anyhow.

They'd be in good company here, too!

I PM'd ya Joe before posting this!

If you could get back to me with a price I'll almost certainly take you up on the offer.

It's an epic drive between Malham and mine!

Edd, most of the crap has been cleared out now, there's just a load of old boards and pallets in there now, a couple of hours would have it ready for you.

I roughly measured it out - it's 27 wellies by 17 wellies, my boots are about 30cm long, so that's about 27x17 ft. That's plenty space for all four, right? My father says you can have it at the rate you said you've been paying for your two lock-ups. On the terms we mentioned before. My mother doesn't want any more tat outside, but in the barn would be your space to store what you like.

The floor is uneven hard-packed earth/stone, and there's some gradient involved in the getting yer shite in, so if they all move under they're own steam, the job would be a gazillion times easier. There's no lockable door, but the weather doesn't blow in and it's safe up here. There are currently doors on the barn, but they're woodworm-ridden to the point that they're dangerous, so they'll be pulled off and chopped up shortly, giving more wing-mirror room. We've had a Rover 800 in there before, so it's not that tight.

You should come and see some time if you can, preferably before my folks go away in about 10 days.

Nothing came, even after I cleared space in my inbox, no notification in my email either. :?:

I will PM you now with my email address, so we can converse that way. PMs soon clog up my inbox on here.

Hopefully we can sort something out for you this time.

Cool beans.

Any evening, this Tuesday would be good, between 4.30 and 7.30, but you'd want to be here before dusk for best viewing.

Even this afternoon after 3pm would be good..?

Or next weekend for the daylight win.

You now have my email address, email me your phone number and we can explain how to get here. I'm away for a couple hours this morning, back about noon.
