Renault 14 in Aberdeenshire

Hi,

A Renault 14 has turned up in Aberdeenshire, the pictures are on Flickr. It has been off the road since 1992 and is in a barn or outbuilding of some description at an apparent abandonded property. It looks the spitting image of the one Nigel Bickle rescued from Gloucestershire. Apparently at first glance it looks quite solid.

The guy who has posted the picture says he does not know who owns the properties, I was just curious (or maybe more than curious) about how easy it would be to find out who owns the properties or is any autoshiter from those parts may have any idea?!

Probably a long shot, I realise!!

This is the google map link

Thanks,

Peter.

First thing I would do is just write a letter to those cottages.

Hi,

Had thought of that but I am sure the guy said they were abandoned, then again I suppose someone must look after them!!

No harm in trying.

First thing I would do is to ask whether it's a good idea to publicly advertise what's there unprotected, and to pinpoint exactly where it is.

Secondly, it does sound intriguing...

I have a friend that lives opposite Haddo House, less than 2 miles from the cottages - I could ask if she knows anything about them?

The guy who found it is Len Hatred/ Lacquer Peel of this parish, I'm sure he'll help however he can, he's not in Scotchland at the moment though, not sure when he'll be back. I would probably edit that map from your post though Peter, just in case some unscrupulous turd spies it and decides to have a bonfire or whatever. Would be a real shame if something happened to the car.

General advice on how to go about trying to claim an abandoned car is detailed in this thread:

Good luck!

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your replies, have edited my post. Probably wasn't a good idea to advertise it online, never considered that aspect  !!

If anyone would be able to look at some point I would be grateful as I am very interested, but don't put yourself out.

Pete.

PS: Thanks Barrett had missed that thread - very useful information
