Cheap auto

Ahh well, now then. According to Peter James it all depends on what they regard a classic car to be.

For example I'd not be able to put a mint 1990 Vauxhall Carlton on my policy cos its not regarded as a classic car, a 1995 Merc C200 is OK though. I sense there is some snobbery at work here.

Weird. Peter James have insured all sorts for me, only stipulating that it must be over 20 years old. They were happy to cover my Saab 9000 for instance - which is not too dissimilar to a Vauxhall Carlton in the 'euro-barge' stakes.

It's a bit of a shitter if you are into old Vauxhalls though I can imagine.

All my current cars are pre 1982 so that puts them in a different bracket again, lol.

I agree with DW, they have always said to me that they will insure anything over 20yrs old. They have insured the Saab 900, Sera, Volvo 740, Audi Coupe and LPG Audi 100 with no questions as well as the proper classics like the GT6 and the Lancia etc.

They even dont do many investigations on the car, as the Saab was under 20 years old when I had it insured with them (although it could have been 20yrs old as it was on a J plate). M'coli had it insured with them too.

Get it bought then! An ideal pal for the All-aggro.

Whereabouts in the UK is it? Currently I'm limited to a 5 mile range on this lent spaz chariot.

Didn't someone have a BX auto for sale ... messerschmitt owner?

My Volvo isn't for sale any more - I'm enjoying it too much.

If my insurers will let me put somthing fairly new and sensible on the policy it would make my life easier. Going to call them on Tuesday and find out. No point looking at a late 90's auto if the man from Peter James he say no way.

I know of a 1.9 diesel BX spazmatic for sale round these parts somewhere, I must try and get his phone number next time I see him

Peter James are fine about insuring a 20 year old BX for me too 8)

Hello Shite fans

Well my foot is still busted and had my hopes of being able to walk / drive / mosh / kickstart my moped quashed my the doctor last week. Trying to pilot the Ami using a crutches ased handcontrols is not good and I'm probably going to stay a bit spasticfantasic for another few months.

If anyone hears of any presentable cheap autos keep me informed.

Matt
