Spark-free Mondeo

I am seriously interested in this, but seller says no spark , won't go , don't know why.

But I suspect he does know and it is expensive.

Would anyone have any clues? By our standards it is ridiculously cheap!!

It is also an import from JAPAN. but so are most cars here!

Sounds stupid, but could it be the plug leads? My Dad had a 24v which went through at least two sets of wires during his custody, you'd open the bonnet in the dark and there would be sparks everywhere but where you wanted them, lightning arcing everywhere like a Pink Floyd concert with Tesla doing the special effects.

A complete guess would be coil packs ... but it could be anything though.

 

The real question is .... "Do you feel lucky?"

Why not plug it in and ask it what's wrong?

Crank sensor, or it hasn't had the revised plug leads, with a little moulded-in grommet to stop water going into the cavity - worth considering in addition to what others have said.

He's a dealer - he will know whats wrong with it. He has not repaired it to sell for max bucks so its an expensive repair. Avoid even if its just because its a mondeo

I have had 24 hours to reflect, and rootes arrow does make sense.

Walk away now seems to be the sane thing to do. Bye Mondeo.

 

It's probably wet plug leads then
