More Eastern European Cars! I've Bought A Yugo!

Dear All,

Been a bit quiet of late, as I've been having terrible problems obtaining new garage premises, after my old ones, which I've rented for 10 years were sold to a firm of property developers. For those who remember the pictures of my Lada, the scene will never be repeated. Enough of this self pity! I couldn't resist this:

It's a 30,000 mile Yugo Tempo, with very no rust underneath at all! Apart from a slight bit of rust on the gutter, it's just perfect! Once again, it's a "barn find", well garage find, to be technically correct. The owner has been told to give up driving and therefore had to get rid of the car. I found it on Fleabay and the seller took it off the site for a BIN price that was mutually acceptable!

I recovered it to my new lock-up, sprayed easy start in it & jumped it (the battery, that is!) and it fired and ran!

It'll need new bumpers front and rear to tidy it up, as well as a full service. The tyres are the original "made in Yugoslavia" ones.... Somewhat worn, to say the least!

I'll keep the Autoshite community up to speed on developments. I LUUURVVEEE it!

Yugos are ACE, and for WINNARZ.

Yes. Yes they are.

I love the angular front on this, and the way the bonnet drops down to meet the grill. Very 70s! Bet that would look a treat with chrome bumpers.

U R WINNAR

That must have been one of the last to be imported I'd have thought?
