Fantastic pics, have decided I really was born about 15 years too late.

Thanks so much for hosting them properly on Flickr, and not banging them on Ebay for a tenner like most would do. Really makes me wish I had owned a decent camera back in the day instead of a 110 instamatic. Did you take them, buy them or find them in a junk sale?

I wasn't even born yet!... I had a chance in the course of few days to go thru them and scan them, ha to swap 3 scanners just to get the resolution right. I do not own them sadly. Do not know who took them either. Its up on flickr for everybody to enjoy, please just credit me if you are going to use them elsewhere.

Is that Valerie Leon on the bonnet of the Beemer??

That's what I thought - someone on here has as their avatar a photo of her sitting on the bonnet of an Austin 1100/1300 with a VL 1 numberplate, so she is clearly Someone We Can Do Business With.

Otherwise known as the classy bird from the Carry On films.

Superb images, thanks for those!

That's the Aquila, it's based on a Maxi floorpan I think and was the winner of a design competition run in conjunction with BL where you could get your design built into a full size prototype. I forget the specifics but there'll be a piece about it on ARONLINE.

Brilliant, Shahin ! I award you a GOLD Pentastar. 8) too much to look at at once, especially that bird on the BM,

I often wondered about who that was lounging on the Austin 1100 bonnet, thought it belonged to Victor Lownes !

Great, thanks Mark. I Googled it and it brought up the ARONLINE page so now I knows all about it.

I went to see Ms Leon do a talk about her life in film at the St Albans Arena a while back. A very well spoken lady who must be in her sixties now. She acknowledges that her film career was hardly highbrow. Claims to have been a 'Bond Girl' twice....though a few lines as 'receptionist in hotel' hardly constitutes the title in my eyes.

You're coming up with some stupendous contenders for thread of the year all of a sudden, Shahin - are you on drugs or something? :D

LOL!.... NO, but I am in sunny CA at the moment high with Sunshine!... :) I've been wanting to post them for some time now, very excited!!!!

Oh really?

Where abouts? I'm in the East Bay area right now.

No no no, do what he said! Watch some Carry On films, if you don't you are depriving yourself of some Great British History. Not to mention a lot of street scenes with 1960s cars all over the place... for which, start with Carry On Cabby  .

(thanks IMCDB :D )

After those, check out some of the 1950s/60s comedy/crime epics such as The Wrong Arm Of The Law, and even The Fast Lady. You'll be educated, I can tell you!
