The buildings of Rootes Maidstone and Canterbury Motor Co are still there,both somewhat modified,but still trading. Now as Robins and Day if i remember right.

You are correct here is a recent photo of it. It was originally built for Clement Talbot Motor Works, it was UK's first purpose-built car factory according to this flickr photo, is that really true?

As I was born in Canterbury, and used to drive past the dealer virtually every day when I was at the University of Kent in the 1990s, I love the Canterbury Motor Company photos

 

Pawnote: the brand-new office block to the left of the dealer is Clarkson House. It's still extant and is now owned by Canterbury Christ Church University. It has aged really well:

Yes,now a Peugeot dealership.The showroom in the picture is on Mill Street and the rest of the building is on Palace Avenue, with a pond between the road and the building. I have been to Maidstone this morning but forgot my camera.

Really fascinating stuff, right up my street!

 

Now I'm pretty sure that Normand dealership gained a story and became Normans Conquest Peugeot in Slough, on the Bath Road near Burnham.

 

 

I used to work there between 1989 and 1992. Unfortunately it has now disappeared and the building looks empty according to Google street view. The Norman family also had a VAG dealership in Maidenhead called Normand, but I think this must be the Slough one as Rootes/Peugeot was always based there.

That Ray Powell showroom is on Ferry Lane,Tottenham,London. I don't expect it looks like that now!
