What's this van? Mr Bickle..?

I followed this van this evening out of my work, I've never seen it or one of them before, It looked freshly restored with clean paint and bolts in the bumper and suspension.

 

I'm guessing it's Eastern European?, maybe Russian? DVLA comes up as a blank as well, Sorry about the crap photos, my old camera is past it's best now, I must replace it.

Don't worry I've just worked it out for myself, It's a UAZ-452. Not something you see everyday!

I love the functional fuglyness of Ruski tat.

 

This one looks like it's had some hotrod surgery on the roof from the rear end shots. Probably had to limit the height to stop it falling over what with it's lofty legs.

Yup UAZ. Virtually every vehicle they ever made is on my list.....
