Tim, if it's like a 405 then the bit under the windscreen can clog up and this fills the footwells with water. Whazz the bonnet open and have a feel round under the screen, every chance it's blocked up to high heaven with old leaves and whatnot.

Even if it's not that it won't have cost to find out!

Right, soaked up the water, although the carpet is still pretty sodden. I'll have to check the scuttle when I get chance. I can't see it being anything too drastic.

The original battery that came with the pug was flat as fook though standing for 3 years, so flat that the Gunsons electronic battery charger refused to put any charge into it, this often happens when a battery is 100% discharged. I hooked up another battery to the charger and connected the duff battery onto it using jump leads. This fooled the charger into charging the dead battery too, after a couple of days it was fully charged! Yay! Anyway, I fitted this battery to the Pug and it fired up first turn of the key. Lovely. I'll have to remember this jumplead trick, as I have scrapped a number of batteries because my charger wouldn't put any charge into them. Chances are they were just very very flat!

I'm on the lookout for some cheapo aftermarket 13" alloys. Something like early 90's 3 spoke affairs would suit it quite well. I suppose I should just focus on getting the thing MOT'd really!
