Hi

Well since the days are ticking down to being gaining one Allegro with all its E Series power and extra doors, something has to give.

That sadly means that the LNA has to find a new home. I've stuck it up on Car and Classic at a price I hope isn't too salty for what is basically a minter of a uber rare voiture. If it makes the asking price I've got some NOS spares that go with it.

I hasten to add we are only selling this because my bonkers girlfriend fell in love with and Allegro VDP and bought it blind off ebay. Selling this could be a massive mistake if Kingsbury's darkest hour goes tits up on the A1 next week.

So here it is:

Looks good that :) . Can't recall when I last saw one, even at a Show...

It's got the XW7 Douvrin "suitcase" engine with 49bhp (at least one version of the same basic engine design also appeared in the Renault 14!), but the rear suspension isn't the same as on the 205 - it has conventional struts per the 104 and the Samba (having the same floorpan) from memory.

Motor raved about the Samba GL - essentially the same car - saying it was a genuinely nice car at the end of a full test.

Oops yes rear struts rather than torsion bars, still great nimble little car. Yes its the 1124cc XW7 unit as fitted to Visa, 104 etc. You could drop a renault 14 1360cc unit straight in and make a LNA ZS, but the 1124 is no slouch and its pretty handy.

Samba's have a slightly longer floorpan and only share two body panels with the LNA / 104 these being the bonnet and tailgate. There aren't many RHD LNA's left maybe 5 or so and I think this is the only red one. Most are either beige or white.
