Suggested route:

 

Meet Carter Bar on northbound car park at 11.00am.

Noon- drive to Jedburgh 12 miles

Jed to Kelso - 11 miles

Kelso to Coldstream -9 miles...

Coldstream to Wooler-14 miles

Wooler to Bamburgh -15 miles

 

 

Finish at Bamburgh Castle car park quick pint and home

 

We can stop for lunch somewhere or change end point to Seahouses and go to the rather good chippy there

This i would love to do would be a crackin day out for the old colt but i cant make that date as its jim clark rally weekend kelso will be heaving with tourists as rally headquarters are based there. there are also alot of road closures in the area so best to mabe avoid.

two points i would change on your route is cut out coldstream and go the back road from kelso to wooler its a cracking road and useually pretty quiet except for the odd sheep. then wooler to bamburgh i would go over the moor the chillingham way its mainly single track road but another corker.

The clark won't be an issue if you go from kelso to wooler the yetholm and kirknewton way. That way you miss all the clark shinanigans.

Ok, I think we need to postpone this till the autumn..if we do it in September then there's plenty of time to get it in the diary, plan a nice route, get lunch or BBQ arranged...
