There aren't many cars with visible indicators now, if they aren't buried deep inside a headlamp unit they're LEDs with an incredibly narrow viewing angle.

They add weight and complexity.......and are therefore against the principles of autoshite surely?

 

I really don't get the safety angle.....it just compensates for not looking properly and invites already complacent drivers to become more so. Risk compensation. Similar to the cocks who continue to go 80+ in zero visibility with fog lights blazing.

 

I don't usually need to be dazzled by something to notice it.

-All my bikes have yellow headlight bulb so can't be mistaken for the headlight of the car behind me

 

-New LED DRL are gay and glaretastic and a show off thing as stated.

 

-Grey and silver cars are exempt fron head light useage in low light/fog/pissing rain or spray/total darkness.

 

-May I ram people on the M25 who, I shit ye not, can drive 10-15 miles with NO lights on at all?

One was coming up outside me on the 25 with no lights in the pitch dark, I pulled out and FUCK ME missed him by inches then he gives it the big I am. I swear if there had been traffic to stop in I would have smashed every panel on the Cnuts car. More out of shock than anger to be honest.

In the winter there are at least 3 a week. Redhill to the A21. Some 15 miles. No lights.

 

and finally, anyone noticed Krautmobiles with no headlights on but the back lights are? Seen quite a few Mercs and BMWs like this.

my old Passat had amber DRLs with a 5w bulb in there

both the police and MOT testers hated them although as far as I am concerned an amber light on the front of a car is perfectly legal

Yellow lamps are OK until the trend catches on and everyone has yellow lamps, then you lose your advantage!

And by "OK" I mean "OK" - they're an MoT pass.

The likes of Audi will dim the DRL when the indicator is operated. It's a shame that the EU was instrumental in getting rid of dim dip systems.
